The history of our hotel
The house was built at the end of the 18th century and initially served only as an inn. It was not until about 100 years later that it became possible to offer guest rooms through renovation.
During a further renovation in 1920, the house was given its present form. At that time, the hotel consisted of two houses, a tourism house (on the site of today's
Parking) and an upscale hotel, where diplomats from Scandinavia and England spent their holidays.
The hotel has been in changing family ownership since its foundation. Even then, it had its charms due to its location in the Bodetal nature reserve. In the multitude of gastronomic offerings in the climatic health resort of Treseburg, the Hotel Forelle has always occupied a leading position. Main attractions for holidaymakers were and are the proximity to nature and the immediate course of the Bode along the house, which is an ideal fly fishing area upstream and downstream.
After the 2nd World War, which the hotel survived without major damage, the house was used for company recreation and rehabilitation purposes. It was not until the Nuremberg family acquired it in 1991 that the listed building came back into family ownership, and it was thus able to recall the traditional history and the thread of content.
The Holiday Hotel Forelle is a member of the International Hotel Association.
Our aim is to bring our guests closer to the traditional history of the house and the place. They are intended to highlight the cultural offerings and natural beauties of the Harz Mountains. In our house, everyone attaches great importance to a family atmosphere in which our guests should find peace and relaxation.
